Adapting Instruction

Adapt and re-frame instructional approach during training sessions based on informal, ongoing assessment and diagnosis of performance

Each training session the coach has a clear instructional aim and practice plan. However, the coach also continuously monitors athletes to see if the session is progressing according to plan for both the team and for individuals. The coach recognizes when aims are not being met and is able to flex the practice plan and improvise, making adjustments to drills, sequencing, instructional strategies, or feedback to enhance learning and performance during the training session.
