Marsa holds a dual role within the University of Washington’s College of Education as a Teaching Associate for the Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership and Leadership in Higher Education M.Ed. programs. At the CLA, Marsa teaches human and sport performance, designs coach development curriculum, and assists in managing the IAL program. Marsa’s Ph.D. (University of Washington: Leadership in Higher Education) research coalesces adult learning theory, transformational change, and educational leadership with exercise physiology and endocrinology, with the aim of shaping healthier and more equitable spaces for women and girls in sport.

Teaching Associate & Coach Developer
Prior to joining UW, Marsa served as a program director and head rowing coach for men’s and women’s intercollegiate rowing and coached elite level cyclists through her private coaching and consulting practice. Marsa earned her M.S. (Exercise and Sport Studies: Specialization in Coaching) from Smith College and her B.S. (Human Performance) from Western Washington University.
