Irina Tereschenko

Research Assistant

Irina is a Research Assistant at the Center for Leadership in Athletics at UW. She is contributing to the Ambitious Coaching Project- an exploration into the core practices of highly effective coaches, – as well as the ACCEL Sports Coaching Certificate – a flexible, part-time program designed for novice and experienced coaches based on the Ambitious Coaching work.

Irina is also an Adjunct Lecturer at the School of Professional Advancement at Tulane University. She teaches Stages of Athletic Development, an online graduate course exploring the complexities of the coaching process, pathways for practical application of sports coaching theories, and avenues for professional development.

Irina received a B.A. in Advertising and an M.S. in Sport Management from Texas Tech University where she was an athlete and then a coach for the Women’s Tennis Team. Currently, Irina is competing on the professional pickleball circuit and is one of the top female athletes in the world. Her hobbies include cheering for the New Orleans Saints, kiteboarding, snowboarding, and reading classical Russian fiction and poetry.
