In partnership with The Sports Institute (UW Medicine) and the King County Play Equity Coalition, along with contributions from The Susan Crown Exchange and LiFEsports at The Ohio State University, UWCLA is excited to share a new tool for those interested in the youth sport space: The Youth Sports and Physical Activity Tracker.
The Tracker allows users to clearly view the landscape of policies and legislation related to youth sports and physical activity across state and federal levels. The resource was designed for coaches, parents, educators, policymakers, program leaders and youth, but it can be utilized by anybody interested in understanding the impact of legislation and policy on youth and the entire youth sport and activity ecosystem.
With over 700 pieces of legislation compiled, the Tracker highlights policy in youth and school sports related to:
- Physical safety
- Training/education requirements
- Abuse prevention
- Athlete well-being
- Mandated recess/play
Check out what is going on in your state and around the country!
