This past October, IAL graduate students shared their College Athlete Employment Case Study presentations with Kelli Rodriguez’s Seattle University Law class, Amateur Sports Law. Special thanks to Simone Willams, Mia Luna, Monica Firmani, and Khanh-An Vu for their innovative and forward thinking approach to the question of college athlete employment. IAL graduate students are leading the way with campus-based strengths to address this legal trend in college sports. Their presentation, originally developed during Dr. Jennifer Hoffman and Dr. Kirsten Hextrum’s summer IAL course, offer valuable insights and recommendations for improving how athletic programs respond to today’s legal challenges in college sports. Thanks also to the UW Harry Bridges Center for Labor Studies for their research support and IAL classmate Ashley Cox for her contributions.
